Investment in GTR Positions 2026 as a Breakthrough Year for Growth

LONDON – 20 January 2026

Global Technical Realty (GTR), a multi-billion dollar European build-to-suit data center platform, is already looking ahead to 2026 as a pivotal year for the company’s growth.

Founded by leading data center entrepreneur Franek Sodzawiczny, GTR has grown into one of Europe’s premier developers and operators of mission-critical data center capacity. The company secured an additional $1.5 billion equity commitment from KKR, a leading global investment firm, at the start of the year. Oak Hill Capital also joined as an investor in the company, committing approximately $400 million. These investments will support GTR’s substantial development pipeline, including additional greenfield capacity and new market entries across Europe.

Alongside this financial momentum, GTR also increased its portfolio with the recent announcement of two significant new projects – a 256MW campus in London where planning permission has been secured, and its first Swiss data center, in Zurich, where construction is already underway. In addition, the leadership team has been significantly expanded strengthening the company’s position to respond quickly to surging demand for energy efficient data center infrastructure.

“Continued AI adoption, sustainability goals and pressure on power and space availability in key business territories are redefining how data center capacity is planned, and delivered, which makes this sector an incredibly fast-moving market to be part of, and an exciting space to work in,” said Franek Sodzawiczny, CEO & Founder at GTR. “We have made substantial progress in expanding our portfolio, operational footprint and capabilities. As a result, we are also recognised as being a strong investment opportunity, and robust foundations are now in place to drive rapid growth.”

Key appointments for GTR include: Thomas Attwood, Head of Financial Planning & Analysis; Molly Goodliffe, Site Acquisition Director; Natalie Gray, Head of Tax; Francisca Hamilton, Investment Manager; Chris Illman, Head of ESG; Hugo Jack, Head of Sales; Eugen Kassier, Commercial Manager; Stephan Niederberger, Project Director; Luis Poblete, Project Director; Clare Ridgeway, General Counsel; Ali Ufuk, Project Director and Sarah Williams, Group Financial Controller.

KKR has always been a critically important strategic partner to GTR, and we are thrilled to now welcome the Oak Hill team, with its extensive digital infrastructure and telecommunications knowledge,” continued Sodzawiczny. “Complex data center projects require exceptional people, and building the right team has been a priority for us. The investment into the business, and the quality of the GTR team, creates a powerful market differentiator as we focus on scaling our growth ambitions.”
